Saturday, June 12

We left Pardessia today and began the back half of our tour. It is always a good time in Pardessia to connect with families and get some rest but we will be honest in that it is sometimes a little difficult to get back into the routine of the long days once we get back on the bus. We met at Gordon and Ahuva's house at noon and began our journey back to the north. Our first stop was Nazareth. In the time Jesus lived there as a boy, Nazareth was most likely a village of about 15 families...very small. Today it is a bustling Arab city so it has a very different feel than most of the places we visit.

We always visit two main sites while we are there. The first is the Church of the Annunciation where they mark the traditional site of the place where the angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would give birth to Jesus. There are ruins there that give us a very clear picture of how Jesus probably lived growing up as a boy. The second stop is called Mary's Well. It is an ancient well that was most likely functional at the time of Jesus. There is now a Greek Orthodox church built over the site of this well.

From Nazareth we headed back to Haifa to get ready for our evening performance. The show was at Beit HaLochem in Haifa. This is the equivalent facility to the one we performed at last Saturday night in Tel Aviv. It is a community center, similar to the Apex, for soldiers who were wounded in service to the State of Israel.

The show was most amazing and there was a very sweet, tangible presence of God there. The average age of the crowd at this show is much older than our usual army shows but they seemed to absolutely love the performance and it truly touched their hearts. One man even stood up in the crowd at the end of the show and told us that we had no idea of how our coming to perform for them touched their hearts and stirred things in them that they had not felt for a long time. His kind words blessed all of us immeasurably.

Following the show we began heading back towards the South of Israel for the next few days. We drove to Tel Aviv to sleep for the evening and will head even further south for tomorrow. It was a great day and God truly blessed all of us at our show tonight. Thanks for your prayers and please be praying for Jennifer Good and Jenny Anderson as they are both not feeling well.
