Thursday, June 10, 2010

It is hard to believe that we left Denver one week ago today. A LOT has transpired since then and God has done some amazing things both in our group and through our group. We woke up this morning in Kfar Giladi which is one of the northern most points in Israel. We had about an hour drive back down to the south end of the Sea of Galilee to where the Jordan River begins. It is called Yardenit. We had about 12 people who got baptized (pictures to come soon...) and it was a fantastic experience for all of us!

From there we headed to the Village of Cana to visit the traditional site of where Jesus performed his first miracle by turning the water into wine. We spent time talking about the scriptures there and then had lunch in Cana....falafel and shwarma. You can't get enough of that food while in Israel.

We then loaded the bus and began our drive to Pardessia. We arrived about 5 pm and met our host families to go home and eat dinner with them prior to our performance. Judging from the comments of everyone as we made our way back to the community center for the show, we are all having a great experience with our host families.

The show this evening went amazingly well. We have performed here many times but tonight seemed very special. There was a sweet presence of the Lord on the stage this evening and the people were visibly moved by the performance and Cheryl's encouraging word to them. We had the privilege of seeing our friends Isaac and Frosien Garaway who came to see the show. They now live about an hour from where we performed.

Right now we are all in our host homes and looking forward to spending the day tomorrow with our host families and getting some rest. Thanks again for your prayers and we will post again on Saturday evening as we observe the Shabbat here in Israel. Good night.
