Shalom!
We had a great day today enjoying God's creation during our boat ride on the Red Sea!!! After arriving in Eilat we enjoyed our favorite Meter pizza. Pizza by the Meter is their slogan, it was great! We had a good nights sleep at the Nova Hotel which has a nice pool and spacious rooms. Our wonderful friend and tour guide Shimon arranged for us to have a boat on the Red Sea for about 4 hours. It is obviously a large boat to fit all of us on there, but we had a wonderful time out on the water. Chris and Debbie, Mike and Jenny and David, as well as David Miller and Julie went Para-sailing out over the water. Scott, Mike Wygant and Justin F went diving to see the fishes and everyone else enjoyed swimming and snorkling near the reef. We all jumped off the top of the boat many times showing off back flip skills and just doing crazy stuff! It was a blast! Our boat captain Avi grilled up some amazing chicken, beef kebob, hot dogs and spicy sausage on the grill, not to mention all the great salads, hummus and other good sides! It was fantastic!
Many pictures from this fun day coming soon!
Our show was for the Eilat navy base. They really really enjoyed it and sang and danced for the duration of the show. The last couple shows, we have been singing the song "One Day" a second time as an encore. It is very popular here and is really every Israeli's prayer for peace. After the show the base commander informed Shimon that several of his officers were not planning on renewing their contract this year and were going to leave the navy for the private sector. After seeing the show and being encouraged they decided to renew their contracts and stay for another year. The commander told Shimon that that had made his year and he was so happy to have good officers stay for another year. It is humbling to be part of what G-d is doing in the hearts of the people who are seeing this show. We will never know the full impact of what G-d has done through the Internationals to minister to the people of Israel while on this earth.
Two shows left, we are very excited for them, hope all is well back in Colorado and where ever this blog finds you!
Blessings from southern Israel!
